I'll stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

Despite such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's largest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
